Campbell

In her first year on the national team, Simona Chin traveled to Beijing to compete in her first Paralympic Games. While there, Chin helped her team of James Dean (Pickerinton, Ohio), Jesse Karmazin (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), Emma Preuschl (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Tracy Tackett (Phoenixville, Pa.) capture the silver medal of the legs, trunks and arms mixed four with coxswain.

Chin first picked up rowing as a freshman at Stanford University, where two of her roommates convinced her to walk onto the men's team as a coxswain. While at Stanford, Chin was a member of the Pac-10 All-Academic Team and Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and she was the recipient of the Kent Mitchell Award for Excellence in Coxing in 2002.

After Stanford, Chin spent three years training with the New York Athletic Club while working for Goldman Sachs. She left Wall Street to return to graduate school, earning an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley in May 2007. She is now the Assistant Dean for the Full-Time MBA Program Office at Georgetown and resides in Washington D.C. with her husband, Colin Campbell, an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.
