Career Highlights: 3rd at 2008 Olympic Trials; 2006 NCAA Outdoor TJ champ; 2002 USA Junior triple jump champion
Curry needed a clutch effort on his final triple jump at the 2008 Olympic Trials to qualify for the Team USA Olympic Games roster for Beijing and he got it with his hop, skip and jump of 17.21m/56-5.75, which gave him third place for the competition and edged out 2005 World Outdoor champion Walter Davis for the final roster spot by a mere half inch. Also in 2008, Curry posted a new personal best with his 17.22m/56-6 effort with his win in Tallahassee, Fla., on March 29. Over the last three years Curry has proven himself to be one of America’s most consistent triple jumpers, ending each season ranked in the top five nationally by Track & Field News. He enjoyed a stellar college career at Florida State, where he was an eight-time All-American and six-time Atlantic Coast Conference titleholder. A prep star at Academy for Community Education in Miami, Curry was the Class A Florida state triple jump champion in 2001.
