Quick Facts
  • Shea grew up passionate about snowboarding and couldn’t get enough of it. But in September of 2002, he was involved in a boating accident. While wakeboarding with friends, the ski rope wrapped around his ankle and resulted in the instant amputation of his left leg. After his accident, he became an avid woodworker making custom furniture in the garage of his California home, but in 2010 he packed his woodworking shop and sold his tools and moved to Winter Park, Colorado. Since his move, Shea has become one of the top para snowboarders in the world and has won several international accolades. In 2014, he competed in his first Paralympic Games for Team, bringing home silver. He attributes his Snowboarding success to his for basic principles: P.A.C.E which stands for Progression, Attitude, Commitment, and Enjoyment
