Biographical Information

Vincent Zhou is an American figure skater and Olympian. Born in San Jose, California, and raised in Palo Alto, he began skating in 2005 and quickly rose through the junior ranks, earning national and international titles.

As a child, Vincent tried several sports such as soccer, basketball, T-ball, skating, track and field, and diving. He considered pursuing Diving, following in the footsteps of his older sister, Vivian, who is a member of the Stanford Diving Club, but he ultimately followed his passion for skating.

Zhou made history at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 by becoming the first skater to land a quadruple Lutz in an Olympic competition. He returned to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, where he helped Team USA secure a silver medal in the team event. Unfortunately, he tested positive for COVID-19 the day before the men’s singles event and was unable to compete. He chose “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” for his free skate routine in Beijing, an homage to his Chinese heritage.

Off the ice, Zhou has a passion for writing and poetry, often using his experiences as inspiration. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, video games and volunteering.
