- At 17 years old, Travis was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his right knee. He beat the cancer through a knee replacement and eight months of chemotherapy, but the surgery resulted in a series of staph infections. After 16 surgeries and two additional knee replacements, Travis decided to have the leg amputated
- Appeared in a television commercial during Super Bowl 49
- He works for a non-profit called Challenged Athletes Foundation, which helps people with physical disabilities participate in sports by funding competitions, training or adaptive equipment
- Travis' hobbies include triathlons and coaching high school wrestling
