Personal

• She most admires her mother, Vilma, because she is strong and determined

• Was born without a left hand and has never found out exactly why, but doctors said the umbilical cord might have wrapped around her hand

• Learned to play the piano at age 6

• Her family moved from Queens to Kissimmee, Florida when she was 10 years old

• Began playing sports in the 6th grade, including volleyball, track and field, and cheerleading

• She earned Conference Player of the Year honors her senior year of high school

• Coaches volleyball and is the director and founder of Limitless People Inc. Nonprofit.

• During the summer, she works at a camp called Nuability Athletics, teaching sports to children ages 5 to 18 with physical disabilities

• 2-time Paralympian; 2-time Paralympic medalist (2 gold)
