Samantha Heyison

Personal

• Born with constricted band syndrome
• Started playing soccer and was active in sports throughout childhood
• Also played softball and basketball, but eventually chose track and field
• Her coach suggested she give Para track and field a try, and Heyison was classified and participated in her first development camp in 2021
• A three-time high school state champion
• Competes for Wake Forest University at the NCAA Division I level
• Mother Tanya played volleyball at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County and father Marc was a 9th-round draft pick for the Baltimore Orioles
• Hobbies include singing and playing guitar, baking and spending time with friends and her dog and cat
