It's Every Day
Pam tore her rotator cuff in November 2004 while diving to make a save during a game against Canada. She underwent two surgeries and intense rehabilitation and felt she was ready to begin skating again in time for the Olympic team tryouts in August 2005. After only a short time on the ice, she was in too much pain to continue with her tryout "I gave up a lot - eight months - and I was supposed to be ready, but I wasn't," Dreyer said. "That was a big letdown, emotionally and physically." She did make the first round of cuts for the Olympic team and continued with rehab for another several months. She re-joined the team on their pre-Olympic tour in the fall, strong and healthy once again. "It's been a very long, arduous road back for her," Team USA head coach Ben Smith said. "But in the last month, we've seen what we always expected from Pam."  Anchorage Daily News
