Never played organized volleyball before trying sitting volleyball
Played varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse at Ethel Walker School (Simsburgy, Connecticut)
Played varsity lacrosse at NCAA Division I Howard University for three years
Endured a car accident in March 2015 due to ice on the road
Injuries included a concussion, a partially fractured nose, two dead arteries that went down to my left foot, nerve damage to the lower part of my left leg and a broken leg
Was in the hospial for seven weeks and had eight surgeries in total, including a left leg amputation
Attended her first-ever sitting volleyball camp in 2016 and earned a spot on the Women's Sitting Volleyball National Team in 2019
Howard University's athletic department created an award in her honor, the Sydney Satchell Award for Perseverance
Hobbies include watching tennis, women’s & college basketball and softball on tv. Also enjoys trying new restaurants, serving in my local church and binge watching detective/law shows and movies
