Biographical Information
Luc Violette began curling at the age of 11, inspired by his father, Tom Violette, a two-time national champion in the sport. Growing up in Edmonds, Washington, Violette balanced his passion for curling with interests in robotics, engineering, and physics during his time at Lake Stevens High School. Violette pursued his academic and athletic goals simultaneously, earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in 2021. Outside of curling, he enjoys watersports, paintballing and fishing.
World Championship Highlights
Violette contributed to Team USA's success with a silver medal at the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships in Gangneung, South Korea and a silver medal at the 2023 Winter Universiade in Saranac Lake, New York.
U.S. Championship Highlights
Violette earned bronze medals at the 2021 U.S. championship and 2021 U.S. mixed doubles championship. He won a silver medal at the 2023 U.S. championship and a bronze at the 2024 U.S. championship.
Early Career
In 2014, Violette won the U.S. junior championship with a team from the Granite Curling Club. He went on to win three consecutive U.S. junior championships and competed in the mixed curling event at the Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games.
