Biographical Information
Becca Hamilton began curling in 2004, inspired by her older brother, Matt Hamilton, who introduced her to the sport after starting the year prior. Both siblings followed in their father Scott’s footsteps, who has long participated in local curling tournaments near their home in Wisconsin. Becca attended McFarland High School and later graduated from Edgewood College in 2013 with a degree in elementary education.
Beyond curling, Becca is known for her love of dogs, including her Labrador Retriever, Oly, who sports an Olympic medal-themed collar.
Olympic Highlights
Becca Hamilton has represented Team USA at two Winter Olympic Games. In her Olympic debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, she competed in both women’s curling, where her team finished eighth, and mixed doubles alongside her brother Matt, finishing sixth in the event’s Olympic debut. At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, Becca participated in women’s curling, helping her team achieve a sixth-place finish.
World Championship Highlights
Becca has achieved notable success at the world championship level. She secured a tenth-place finish at the 2017 World Mixed Doubles Championship. In 2021, she helped the U.S. women’s team earn a bronze medal, further cementing her reputation as a key player on the international stage.
U.S. Championship Highlights
Becca's fiercely measured approach has earned her several medals in both U.S. women's championship tournaments and mixed doubles events. Becca and Matt went undefeated to win the 2022 Mixed Doubles National Championship and won the 2024 Mixed Doubles National Championship, beating out the 2023 world champions, Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin.
Early Career
Becca’s curling career began at the Madison Curling Club, where she trained extensively and competed in local tournaments. While attending McFarland High School, she participated in lacrosse, leading her team to the state tournament in 2007.
