• Martinez began swimming in 2009 at age 14. She was diagnosed with Leber's congenital amaurosis at age three. She has always enjoyed Swimming. As a pre-race ritual, she takes a gel shot before every race and receives a pep talk from her father

• Hobbies include swimming, listening to music, singing and spending time with loved ones and friends
• Has done a triathlon
