Biographical Information

Kroy Nernberger was born in Medford, Wisconsin, and began curing in 1996. He started his competitive curling career at Medford High School. He later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied mechanical engineering. Now a mechanical engineer, Nernberger has spent most of his professional career in the consumer products industry through his business End Game Curling. Their goal is to provide cost-effective and environmentally friendly high quality curling products for athletes of all skill levels. He developed an eco-friendly fabric broom head for curling, achieving a patent in 2019, and launched a second broom in 2023.

Curling out of the Medford Curling Club, Nernberger has been an integral part of the Wisconsin curling scene and continues to compete in regional and national events. Outside of curling, he enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

U.S. Championship Highlights

Nernberger's U.S. Championship experience includes a seventh-place finish at the 2007 U.S. National Championships. He also earned silver and bronze medals in the U.S. Mixed National Championship in 2008 and 2007, respectively. He claimed a national club championship in 2008 and reached the semifinals in 2006.

Early Career

Nernberger's curling career began at the high school level, where he helped lead his team to victory in the 2002 Wisconsin High School Championships. He continued his curling journey at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, participating in the U.S. Junior National Championships in 2004 and 2005. In 2004, Nernberger made a strong showing as a semifinalist, and in 2005, he placed fifth in the competition.
