  • In 1997, she nearly severed her left thumb when a teammate accidentally stepped on it with his skate blade

It's Every Day
She grew up competing with her older brother, Erik, and considers him her hero. "I've always looked up to him. He's been so supportive, bringing me along when I was younger to play street hockey with his friends," Wendell said.
