Emma Weyant is an American swimmer known for her exceptional performances in individual medley and distance freestyle events.
Weyant comes from a supportive family that has encouraged her swimming career from a young age. She has expressed interest in pursuing a career in medicine after her Swimming career.
Weyant studied at the University of Virginia before transferring to the University of Florida to study political science and international relations.
At Weyant's Olympic debut in Tokyo, she secured a silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4:32.76, finishing behind Japan's Yui Ohashi.
Weyant went on to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and achieved a bronze medal in the 400m individual medley with a time of 4:34.93.
As a junior swimmer, Weyant's breakthrough came at the 2019 world junior championships, where she won gold in the 400m individual medley. This performance signaled her potential on the international stage and set the stage for her transition to senior-level competition.
Weyant secured several ACC titles during her time at Virginia, as well as SEC championship victories in both the 500-yard freestyle and 400m individual medley. She played a vital role in helping the team at Virginia secure an NCAA championship title. While at the University of Florida, Weyant won the 2024 NCAA championship in the 800 free relay.
