Jake Peterson was born on February 27, 1994 in Dearborn, Michigan. The native of Zimmerman, Minnesota is a former football and track athlete. He began his sliding career in 2009 at age 15. Peterson enjoys working with cars, skiing and hiking. His role model is 2010 bobsled Olympian and U.S. Army sergeant John Napier. His father inducted him into an FIBT drivers school when he was 15 to start training for the 2012 Youth Olympic Games.
