Cory Butner began the sport of bobsled in April 2007 after being selected for a recruiting camp in Lake Placid, N.Y. Butner competed as a push athlete for a couple seasons, and helped push Napier to the 2009 National Championship title.  Butner decided to become a driver in the 2009-2010 season, and battled teammate Nick Cunningham for the 2012 America's Cup title.  He quickly emerged as one of the nation's top drivers, and has already claimed two medals in his first full season on the World Cup tour.

Butner graduated from U.C. Riverside in 2005 with a B.S. in Statistics. His favorite quote is, "Rule #76: No Excuses, Play like a Champion," and his athletic career goals are to "win, win, win... then retire."
