After sitting out for the 2006 season to play volleyball, Aldrich returned to the track in 2007 and qualified for her fourth U.S. National team…Aldrich came back with a vengeance in ’05 after taking a break from track & field to compete in Volleyball. Her victories at the adidas Track Classic and the Nike Prefontaine Classic made her a strong contender at the USA Outdoor Championships. She started out as a tennis player, but also played basketball until her sophomore year in high school. That’s when volleyball and track took over... she had started high jumping in 7th grade, hitting 5-6 that first year... hails from a sporting background, with her father playing high school Basketball and her grandfather, Ki Aldrich, playing pro football for the Washington Redskins from 1939 to 1948...in addition, her brother played tennis at Trinity University...she transferred from Arizona to Texas after her frosh year so that she could keep working with coach John Rembao...’I knew that’s what I needed to do. He’s the best coach for me. But it was hard to leave, especially the volleyball team’ ...she was a starting middle blocker for the Longhorn volleyball team that tied for 5th in the NCAA Championships...she came off the volleyball season and started training for track in January... ‘Sometimes, when you’re an athlete in two sports, it’s hard to coordinate the sports at a high level. But I liked doing both. It kept me excited to go on to the next season. So many people say you can’t be great at more than one thing. I want to show girls that they can be.’ A seven-time All-American at Texas, Aldrich was the 1999-2000 Big 12 Conference Female Athlete of the Year... Aldrich had little time to rest after competing at the 2001 World Outdoor Championships, reporting immediately to Colorado Springs, Colorado to train with the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team… Team USA won the NORCECA Championships in the Dominican Republic and finished fifth at the Grand Championships of Volleyball in Japan… Aldrich hasn’t committed to a specific year but estimates she could play competitive international volleyball through 2012… She returns to track and field after taking time off to play volleyball in Europe and plans on being in Beijing in 2008…she graduated with a degree in Journalism/News & Public Affairs from the Texas in 2001.

2007: 7th at USA Outdoors (1.80m/5-10.75)…11th in qual. at World Outdoors (1.88m/6-2)...1st at San Mateo (1.92m/6-3.5)…1st at Provo (1.90m/6-2.75)…ranked #4 in the U.S. by T&FN…1.92m/6-2.75.

1998: Jumped collegiate indoor record 6-5.5 to win the Canon IV meet...won NCAA Outdoor (6-4), NCAA Indoor (6-4.25) and Big 12 Indoor (6-0.75)...3rd at USA Outdoors (6-2.75) ... ranked #3 in U.S. by T&FN... best of 6-5.5.
1997: 2nd in Pac-10 (6-1.5)...3rd at NCAA (6-1.5)...3rd at USA Outdoors (6-4 PR)...tied for 22nd in qualifying round at World Champs (5-10.75)...ranked #3 in U.S. by T&FN...best of 6-4.
1996: Won Texas HS state title, USA Juniors (6-2.75) and Golden West Invitational (6-2.25)...8th in Olympic Trials...4th in World Junior Champs...ranked #8 in U.S. by T&FN...best of 6-2.75.
