Biographical Information

Cory Thiesse (née Christensen), born in Duluth, Minnesota, began her curling career at the St. Paul Curling Club, where she gained recognition for her talent and strategic insight. Her dedication to the sport led her to represent Team USA in various national and international competitions. Thiesse is committed to growing curling at the grassroots level and fostering the next generation of curlers. Outside of her career, she enjoys spending time with family and volunteering at her local curling club.

Thiesse was an alternate on the team that competed in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games.

World Championship Highlights

In 2023, Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin made history by winning the gold medal at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships, the first-ever world title in this event for the United States. She also earned a bronze medal at the 2019 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships.

U.S. Championship Highlights

Cory Thiesse has achieved significant success at the U.S. Championship level, winning the U.S. mixed doubles championship in 2019 and 2023. She is also a three-time U.S. champion, securing titles in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Career Highlights

In 2023, at the USA Curling Excellence Awards, Cory won the Female Athlete of the Year award, as well as the Team of the Year award alongside teammates Korey Dropkin and Aileen Geving. In 2024, Thiesse was a semi-finalist for the prestigious 94th AAU James E. Sullivan Award, awarded to the most outstanding athlete at the collegiate, Olympic, or other similar elite level in the United States.

Early Career

Cory Thiesse, formerly known as Cory Christensen, competed in four Junior National Championships, finishing as high as 5th place in 2015 and 6th place in 2014. She earned a silver medal at the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships as part of the U.S. women’s curling team.
