Curling start: My grandfather Louie Falk, my uncle Jim Falk, and my father Jeff Falk. Both my uncle and father were representatives of the United States at the Junior Men’s World Curling Championships in 1988, ’89, and ’90.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up? Jeff Gordon
What other sports do you play? I used to play baseball and football, and now I am an avid hunter and fisherman.
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions? No. I don’t believe in superstitions.
What is your career highlight to date? Being able to curl with my wonderful teammates.
What is one shot you would like to try one more time? A quint-takeout (5 rocks).
Do you have any hidden talents? Something unique about yourself? Yes, I am totally disconnected from all social networks and social media.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Never fry bacon naked.
What is your favorite sport other then curling? Hunting and/or fishing.
What is one thing you’d like to do before you die? Go polar bear hunting with a bow.
What sporting event would you most like to attend? Synchronized swimming at the Summer Olympics.
Favorite Bands/Music? Television Shows? Anything Country. I don’t watch TV.
Who was most influential in your curling development? My dad and grandfather have always helped to coach me and make me a better curler.
What is your most embarrassing moment on the curling ice? Losing almost every high school conference game to fellow teammates Ben and Alex Vorpahl and the Portage curling teams.
Where would you like to spend a week’s vacation? Hunting big game anywhere.
What hobbies do you have? Hunting and fishing.
Do others in your family curl? Yes, all of the men in my family are avid curlers, and they have all been very successful.
What do you enjoy most about curling? The competition.
Other Olympic sport you’d like to try? Archery or skeet shooting.
Who is your greatest competitor? Rival? Anyone from my old high school conference, especially teammates Rob Shlimovitz and Alex and Ben Vorpahl.
Favorite color? Camo or blaze orange.
Favorite Book? What is a book? Just kidding. Any hunting or outdoor adventure stories.
