It’s no secret Texans love their Whataburger, so much so that’s where two-time Paralympic gold medalist Deja Young chose to announce the exciting news that she and husband Tim Craddock are expecting their first child.
Posing for photos inside a location of the fast food chain, complete with a tiny onesie bearing the words, “Whatababy – New to the Menu: July 2022,” Young continued the culinary theme in her Instagram post.
“Instead of one honey butter chicken biscuit I’ll be taking two,” Young wrote. “Baby Craddock coming July 2022.”
There was an outpouring of well-wishes in the replies from numerous Paralympic track team teammates such as Jessica Heims, Kym Crosby-Hightower and Wes Williams.
Young and Craddock were married in March 2021. Their first few months of marriage didn’t allow for much togetherness as Young was busy qualifying for and competing in her second Paralympic Games. After winning dual gold at the Paralympic Games Rio 2016, Young secured a bronze medal in the 100-meter in Tokyo.
Recently named again to the U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Team for 2022, Young will look to add another gold medal to her resume this summer at the world championships, the biggest event on the Para track calendar this season. Young has won four gold medals at worlds thus far, including one in the 200-meter in 2019. Worlds had been set for September 2021, but were postponed due to the postponement of the Tokyo Games to 2021.
