USA Shooting is coming into the final part of the Olympic quad on a competition high.
The team most recently won 10 medals and set three world records at the 2023 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Championship. In 2023, shotgun athletes secured more than 30 medals at ISSF world cups, while the Paralympic team won two bronze medals at the Changwon World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cup. In 2022, athletes won 44 medals at the Championship of the Americas Games (CAT), 19 medals at the ISSF World Championship, and over 30 ISSF World Cup medals.
During the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, the team brought home a total of six medals, bringing our total Olympic and Paralympic medal count to 121 with 58 gold, 32 silver, and 31 bronze. USA Shooting currently holds the most shooting sports Olympic gold medals of any country (58).
Many of our athletes, Alison Weisz, Christian Elliott, Tim Sherry and Kevin Nguyen, also serve in the U.S. Army in addition to training and competing full time in their sport.
USA Shooting currently has 15 quotas secured for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. The rifle, pistol, shotgun, and Paralympic teams are ready, now more than ever, for the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 and Paris 2024. Team USA fans should be excited to watch veteran athletes like Vincent Hancock, three-time Olympic Gold medalist, and Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls compete for the chance to make the Paris team.
