I am a 19-year-old college sophomore attending school at my local community college. I plan on transferring to University of Maryland next semester for Fire Protection Engineering. I work part time as well as having class full time. I have been a firefighter for three years at my local department and completed my Emergency Medical Technician certification two year ago. Since then I have joined two other departments and work part time as a firefighter/EMT as well as volunteering. I love being a part of the emergency services and having an opportunity to come to the aide of people when they need it most. I started curling in 2010 after (how most people discover the sport) seeing it in the Olympics. I ended up going online to see if there were any local curling clubs and found the Philadelphia Curling Club was only a half hour away. I went to an open house, tried the sport for the first time, and loved it from there.
