Biographical Information
Tommy Ford is a prominent American alpine skier specializing in giant slalom. Raised in Bend, Oregon, he was introduced to skiing at the age of two by his parents, both of whom were ski racers and coaches. This early exposure fostered a deep passion for the sport, leading him to competitive racing during his teenage years.
Ford's talent became evident as he secured four gold medals at the 2006 U.S. Junior Championships. He officially joined the U.S. Ski Team in 2009, marking the beginning of his professional career. His world cup debut that same year saw him scoring points in his rookie season, and he earned a spot on the team for giant slalom at the Olympic Winter Games Vancouver 2010. A notable achievement in his career, Ford won his first world cup victory in December 2019, placing first in the giant slalom event. With this win, Ford became the first U.S. man to win a world cup since 2017.
