Role Model: My role model is my mom. She is hardworking, dedicated, loving, and an inspiration in her job and our community. She taught me to be a leader and to always follow my dreams.

How you got into the sport: I’ve been on moving water with my mom since I was three years old. When I was six I was put in a small yellow Jackson Kayak playboat and found out I enjoyed paddling. I continued to paddle growing up and was given the opportunity to try slalom kayaking in late 2012 with two-time Olympian Scott Shipley who became my next door neighbor when I moved to Lyons. Soon after that, I began to work with Alexander Dawson School’s canoe and kayak team and their coach Jordi Domenjo-Cadefau. I have paddled slalom kayak ever since and plan on canoeing this year.
Fun Facts: I was a victim of the 100-year flood in the front range of Colorado. My town was split into six islands while 27,000 CFS of water came flowing out of the mountains. I was displaced for three months and came home in December of 2013. I also play seven instruments for my school band and volunteer at my local hospital.
