Steven A. Mulhern
Personal
Steven has two prominent family members that drive him to competitive excellence. His grandfather, Stephen Van Buren was inducted into the National Football League, Hall of Fame in 1965 and his brother John Mulhern was a Goal Ball bronze medalist at the 2004 Paralympic Games. Steven has had an interest in grappling since high school where he wrestled for Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia, PA. He currently trains at the Blind Sports Organization and Liberty Bell Judo Club, both in Philadelphia, PA. Steven also participates in conditioning training at a local YMCA. To prepare for competitive events, he competes in local and regional able-bodied tournaments. His dream is to compete in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. He lives with his fiancé in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
