Biographical Information

Scottie Scheffler is an American professional golfer who has established himself as one of the leading players on the PGA Tour. He has earned multiple PGA Tour victories, including two major championship wins at the Masters Tournament in 2022 and 2024.

Scheffler developed a passion for golf at the young age of three when he received a set of plastic clubs from his parents. As a child, he would practice with ping pong balls. He began practicing at the 9W Driving Range, where his father worked shoveling snow in the winter to support his son’s interest.

Scheffler quickly rose through the junior golf ranks, becoming one of the top amateur players in the country. He attended Highland Park High School and was later recruited to play golf at the University of Texas at Austin for the Texas Longhorns. Scheffler graduated from the McCombs School of Business in 2018 with a degree in finance.

Off the course, he is involved with several charitable initiatives and is passionate about giving back to the community. He’s an active supporter of Triumph Over Kid Cancer (TOKC), a non-profit that raises money for childhood cancer research. Scheffler has donated to the organization, volunteered, and participated in various events. In August 2023, he also became an investor in the Texas Ranchers pickleball team.

Olympic Highlights

Scheffler represented the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, making six birdies on the back nine to win the gold medal in the men's individual golf tournament. His winning score of 19-under par tied the course record at Le Golf National.

International Cup Highlights

Scheffler's team competition career has been marked by both triumphs and challenges. He made his Ryder Cup debut for Team USA in 2021 at Whistling Straits as a captain's pick, where he went 1-0-1 in team play and notably defeated Jon Rahm in singles. As the world’s top-ranked golfer in the world, he was a part of the victorious U.S. team at the 2022 Presidents Cup. At the 2023 Ryder Cup, Scheffler posted a 2-0-1 record, once again getting the better of Jon Rahm with a decisive 4-and-3 victory in singles play.

Professional Golf Highlights

In 2019, Scottie Scheffler earned his PGA Tour card through the Korn Ferry Tour. His two victories, including the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, led to him being named Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year.

His 2020 breakout season featured a fourth-place finish at the PGA Championship and culminated in winning PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors.

The 2022 season proved transformative for Scheffler. He captured four PGA Tour titles, including his first major at the Masters, along with victories at the WM Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. These wins elevated him to World No. 1 and earned him PGA Tour Player of the Year recognition.

In 2023, Scheffler successfully defended his WM Phoenix Open title with a 6-under performance and claimed The Players Championship, which returned him to the top spot in the world rankings.

Scheffler dominated 2024 with eight victories, including his second Masters title and consecutive Players Championships. He added wins at the RBC Heritage, Memorial Tournament, and Travelers Championship. His season culminated in winning both the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup, setting a new PGA Tour earnings record.

Early Career

Scheffler won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in 2013. He went on to play college golf at the University of Texas, where he was a three-time All-American and helped lead the Longhorns to three Big 12 championships. After turning professional in 2018, Scheffler quickly made his mark as one of the most promising young talents in golf.
