Peter Samuel Konrad Sacksen is the son of Joachim and Jennifer Sacksen...He has one brother (Ben) and two sisters (Rachael and Sophia)...His family is very active in the sport of modern pentathlon with his younger sister Rachael following in his footsteps to the elite level.  Sam graduated from Rockwood High School in Rockwood, Pa. in 2004...While in high school he ran track and cross country for three years and was on the swim team one year...He started college at the University of Pittsburgh before moving to Colorado Springs, Colo. to become a resident athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center...Once in Colorado Springs he resumed his studies in Biology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2008...Sacksen is a good student and is customarily on the Dean's list...He is planning on attending veterinary school.  When not training in his sports five different disciplines or studying he enjoys fishing, camping, playing Xbox and learning different languages...On his i-Pod you will find all different kinds of music...His favorite movies are "funny ones" and he enjoys television shows on The Discovery Channel...Says that his role models are anyone who works hard to attain goals, but keeps a humble way about them...Prides himself on his ability to focus and the fact that he likes to work hard to make things happen.
