Robert Kim

Personal

Robert is one of the top ranked Paralympic Judo players in the United States. He uses a strong martial arts base (Taekwondo) to defeat his opponents. In just over a year, he's become the second ranked Paralympic -66kg Judo player in the country. By taking a Silver Medal at the USA Judo Senior National Judo Championships last May in Reno, NV, Robert became an alternate on the 2014 IBSA World Championship Team. His potential is not limited by the fact that he's older than most of his opponents. Robert works as a personal trainer and Sensei and stays in tremendous shape. His goal is to qualify for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio and represent the United States on sport's grandest stage. Robert recently returned from Seoul, Korea where he represented the United States at the IBSA World Games in the -66kg division. With this result, Robert is now ranked #28 in the new IBSA World Rankings. At the USA Judo National President's Cup in Irving, TX last November, Robert took home the Silver Medal in the 66kg division. Earning a medal at the 2015 Para Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada is on his list of short term goals.
