Fun Facts: Rob enjoys reading, biking and stand-up comedy…He lists his most memorable sporting achievement as finishing the Nation’s Triathlon and winning the trunk and arms double
sculls at the Non-Qualified Paralympic Trials…He is a retired U.S. Marine Sergeant who
became a bilateral above knee amputee in July of 2010 while serving in Afghanistan…He
chose rowing because it has a combination of ferocious effort harmonized with delicate
technique that other sports don’t have…The most influential people in his sporting career
are Mark Twight and Rob MacDonald because “they set an example of hard work that is
worthy of emulation and always strive to improve themselves, and push others to improve
themselves as well, whether it is physically, mentally, or as a man. They showed me that
one can only improve by first being honest, and then by working hard”…Rob lists his
personal hero as Cal Ripken, Jr.
