  • Doerr grew up sailing on Barnegat Bay in New Jersey, where all of his friends and family were avid sailors. He was forced to crew for his siblings at a young age. After a spinal cord injury in 1992, Doerr was able to reconnect to his past and has stated that Sailing has improved his health

  • His career as a physician in plastic and reconstructive surgery is another one of his passions
