2017: Earned a bronze medal at the second stop of the ITU World Paratriathlon Series in Yokohama, Japan • Won the women’s PTS4 division at the Sarasota CAMTRI Paratriathlon American Championships • Took the win at the USA Triathlon Paratriathlon National Championships in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin

2016: Recorded a top-10 finish at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games • Finished fourth at the Besançon and Strathclyde ITU World Paratriathlon Events, and placed sixth at the Penrith ITU World Paratriathlon Event • Placed fourth at the Sarasota CAMTRI Paratriathlon American Championships

2015: Finished top-10 at the ITU Paratriathlon World Championships in Chicago • Reached the podium three at ITU World Paratriathlon Events, including gold in Edmonton and bronzes in Yokohama and Buffalo City • Placed fifth at the Monterrey CAMTRI Paratriathlon American Championships

2013: Earned a silver medal at the ITU Paratriathlon World Championships in London • Placed second at the USA Paratriathlon National Championships

2012: Won gold at the ITU Paratriathlon World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand

Personal

Parents are Sal and Rita • Sisters are Sandie and Laura • Son is Gabe, who she adopted from Guatemala • Recently retired from a 25-year career with the U.S. Army • Ended her Army career with the rank of Colonel • Spent time working at the Pentagon and Fort Bragg • Was injured on a cycling outing in 2006 when she was hit by a car • Ultimately made the decision to amputate her lower left leg in 2007 • Has over 100 parachute jumps from an airplane, including two after she lost her leg.
