Biographical Information
Nyjah Huston is an American professional skateboarder. For over a decade, Huston has dominated the world of street skateboarding with his precise and technical skating style. His consistency and determination have won him multiple victories in the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) World Tour, X Games, and numerous global competitions.
Huston is revered for his groundbreaking performances in street skateboarding, blending technical flips, grinds, and highly complex trick combinations. As a prominent figure in skateboarding culture, he is revered as a major contributor to the sport's growing popularity.
Huston began skateboarding at the age of 5 under the guidance of his father. His early exposure to professional-grade skateparks allowed him to develop his unique style and confidence. By the age of 10, Huston was competing in high-profile skateboarding competitions.
Outside of skateboarding, Huston is passionate about philanthropy. He founded the Nyjah Huston Let It Flow Foundation, which helps bring clean water and sanitation to communities in need around the world.
Olympic Highlights
At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Huston finished 7th in the men’s street competition.
At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Huston returned to the Olympic stage with renewed confidence. He competed in a very close semi-final, claiming the bronze medal alongside his American teammate, Jagger Eaton, who claimed the silver medal in the men's street event.
Professional Skateboarding Highlights
Huston’s X Games career started with a gold medal in the Street event at X Games Los Angeles in 2011, followed by another gold at X Games Barcelona in 2012. Between 2013 and 2019, he earned multiple gold and silver medals in Street Skateboarding across various X Games venues including Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Austin. He claimed another silver at X Games Chiba in 2022 and added another gold medal to his collection at X Games California in 2023.
In Street League Skateboarding (SLS), he won his first championship in 2010. He went on to win four SLS Super Crown World Championships between 2012 and 2016, and in 2019, he secured his seventh SLS Super Crown World Championship title
Early Career
Huston’s early career was marked by unprecedented success. At just 11 years old, he turned pro and became the youngest skater to compete in the X Games. In 2009, Huston launched his own skateboard company, I&I Skateboards, before eventually moving on to sign with major sponsors such as Nike SB, Monster Energy, and Element Skateboards.
