Mitchell Seidenfeld brought a great deal of momentum into the 2008 Paralympic Games after winning two gold medals at the 2007 Parapan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In Beijing, Seidenfeld was edged out of the medal equation when he lost the bronze medal match to Spain's Alvaro Valera.
Seidenfeld, a world champion player (1990, Class 8 Singles) and award-winning coach (2003 U.S. Olympic Committee Table Tennis Developmental Coach of the Year), played four years at the University of Minnesota, where he earned a degree in English.
He is married with two children (Emma & Ian) and works as the program director for Table Tennis Minnesota.
