During his second deployment, Sergeant Spivey was serving with the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan when he was injured by an improvised explosive device in December 2010. He lost his left arm below the elbow and suffered shrapnel injuries to his back and legs. He was introduced to para snowboarding during his rehabilitation...Son of Mike Spivey and Bill and Debbie Day...Has three siblings: Amanda, Angela and Jeremy...Married to Kris Spivey...Hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, golfing and working on older cars.
