Bausch learned about skeleton as the weight room intern for the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center in Fall 2008. She returned for a combine test one year later and slid in the development program for the duration of the '09-'10 season. Bausch previously participated in rugby, soccer, softball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and track and field.

FUN FACTS

- She has pretty much been a nomad since 2004; she finally got a compass tattooed on her foot, though she doesn't think the thing works because she has no more sense of direction.
- She has done a 216m bungy jump, a 16000 ft sky dive, gone shark diving and plenty more "stupid" things that she will NEVER regret.
- She is always naked underneath her clothes.
