Personal
- Bounds has overcome challenges since the day she was born
- When she was just one day old, she had a heart and lung bypass surgery. Later on, she developed asthma and was diagnosed with autism at the age of four
- Despite her health challenges, Bounds started running at age 14 and has progressed quickly in the sport, using it as an escape
- She earned a cross-country scholarship to Arkansas Tech University
- She was sidelined with a stress fracture in 2016 when she saw the Paralympic Games on TV, inspired by fellow U.S. athlete Mikey Brannigan who also has autism
- She competed at the 2017 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Championships where she qualified to represent Team USA for the first time later that summer at the World Para Athletics Championships.
- Daughter of Danny and Kathleen Hannigan-Bounds. Has a sister, Chelsie
- Hobbies include running and Japanese anime.
