- Suffered an injury in a work accident that cut his heel off, which he knew needed to be amputated
- In 2019 he was watching videos of para-athletes competing and came across Jarryd Wallace, who he reached out to on Instagram
- Since then, Wallace has helped him and his prosthetist understand how his blade worked and how it should fit so he could run at his full potential
