Jason Nicholas Rogers is the son of F.D. "Chuck" and Kathleen Rogers...He will be competing in his second consecutive Olympic Games in 2008 in Beijing, China...He just missed out on a medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece as he was a member of the U.S. men's saber team that finished fourth in the team competition...Rogers graduated from Brentwood High School in Los Angeles, Calif. in June 2001...Was a Brentwood Scholar with a +3.6 Grade Point Average during grades nine through 12...Won the Bank of America Math and Science Award, which is awarded to the top all-around math/science student during his/her senior year...Graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology...Jason also speaks some French...Competed in four years of varsity fencing for Ohio State...Was a Rhodes Scholarship Finalist in 2005...Was named a first team All-American three times while at Ohio State; also was a three-time bronze medalist...Was awarded the Big Ten Conference Medal of Honor, the top academic/athletic honor for Ohio State graduating seniors...Was named a two-time Academic All-American (one first team and one second team)...When not fencing, Jason enjoys playing the guitar and catching up on his reading...Enjoys reading about his long-lost hobby; skateboarding which he gave up many years ago when he decided to focus on fencing...Also has a fondness for DJ-ing, golf, soccer, surfing and snowboarding...Is left-handed...Was the youngest U.S. man ever to achieve an "A" rating, at the age of 14, in 1997...On his i-Pod you will find old hip-hop that makes him think of high school ( for its period accuracy and sublime actors...Lists Roger Federer has his role model because of his inhuman "cool" under pressure, maturity in the limelight and indefatigable passion for excellence...Jason says that what makes him a unique person is the fact that he really enjoys the process of training.
