- Macom started racing bicycles in BMX then transitioned to road and track cycling in 2004. In 2015, he lost his right leg below the knee from complications of a broken ankle sustained in a bicycle accident. Jason's amputation didn't stop him from pursuing the dream which he set forth as a child, which was to participate at the Games. When he is not training, Macom works in the IT department at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and is developing with 3D modeling, custom Cycling and adaptive components
