Jagger Eaton is an American professional skateboarder and Olympic medalist who is recognized as one of the top skateboarders in the world. He has made his mark on the world of skateboarding using his creativity, technical skills, and fearless approach.
Eaton's achievements span across major skateboarding competitions, from the X Games to the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) World Tour. His performance abilities coupled with his charismatic personality have made him a fan favorite in the skateboarding community.
He was born into a family with strong skateboarding ties. His father, Geoff Eaton, owns the Kids That Rip (KTR) Skateboard School in Arizona. His mother, Shelly Schaerer, was a member of the United States national gymnastics team from 1985 to 1989.
Eaton’s father's training facility, KTR, provided him with a unique environment to develop his skills. By the age of 4, Eaton was already skateboarding and quickly became obsessed with perfecting his tricks. By age 11, he made history as the youngest-ever X Games competitor in the Big Air event.
Eaton has gained media attention beyond skateboarding competitions. In 2016, he starred in his own reality TV series, "Jagger Eaton's Mega Life," on Nickelodeon.
When skateboarding made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Eaton was one of the sport’s breakout stars, taking home the bronze medal in street skateboarding. This also made him the first American to medal in Olympic skateboarding.
Eaton continued his Olympic success at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and won the silver medal in the men's street event.
In 2017, Eaton secured his first X Games gold medal in the Street Amateurs event in Minneapolis. The following year, 2018, he earned silver medals at both the X Games Norway and X Games Minneapolis Street competitions. Eaton continued his success in 2019, winning a silver medal in the Park event at X Games Minneapolis. He returned in 2022 to claim gold in the Park event at X Games Chiba. Eaton successfully defended his title in 2023, winning another gold medal in the Park event at X Games California.
Eaton has been a top competitor on the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) World Tour. In 2021, he won the SLS Super Crown World Championship, solidifying his position as one of the elite street skaters in the world.
Eaton's early career was marked by impressive accomplishments. At 11 years old, Eaton made history as the youngest-ever X Games competitor, placing 12th in the Big Air event in 2012. From 2013 to 2016, he consistently finished in the top 10 across six X Games events, competing in both Big Air and Street Amateurs competitions. He also placed first at the Tampa Am competition at age 14, marking him as one of the youngest skateboarders to achieve this prestigious win.
He gained attention on the amateur circuit and quickly transitioned to the professional ranks. By his teenage years, Eaton had competed in the most prestigious skateboarding competitions globally, gaining sponsorships and fans along the way.
