Biographical Information

Jade Carey began gymnastics at a young age and quickly showed promise in the sport. Her parents owned a gym which allowed her to get involved with Gymnastics at just two years old. She attended Mountain Ridge High School and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in January of 2024. She currently attends and competes at Oregon State.

Olympic Highlights

Jade Carey's Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was marked by both challenges and triumph. After stepping in to replace Simone Biles, she placed eighth in the all-around final and finished eighth in the vault final. Carey concluded her Tokyo 2020 Games experience on a high note, winning gold in the floor exercise final with a score of 14.366, demonstrating her strength in tumbling and precise landings.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Carey helped power Team USA to gold in the team all-around final and added to her individual medal collection with a bronze in the vault final.

World Championship Highlights

At the 2017 world championships, Jade Carey made an impressive debut on the international stage, earning silver medals in both vault and floor exercise.

The following year at the 2018 world championships, Carey continued to demonstrate her excellence, earning another silver medal, this time on floor exercise.

Carey showcased her value as a team player at the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, helping the United States secure the team silver medal.

Early Career

Carey's path to elite gymnastics was somewhat unconventional. Unlike many elite gymnasts who progress through the traditional Junior Olympic program, Carey competed in the Hopes division (a developmental program for young, aspiring elite gymnasts) before making the leap directly to senior elite competition in 2016.

She trained at Arizona Sunrays and her performances in her first senior elite competitions in 2016 set the stage for her rapid rise in the sport.

Carey began her collegiate gymnastics career at Oregon State University while continuing to compete at the elite level. Contributed to the U.S. team's silver medal at the World Championships.

In her NCAA career at Oregon State University, Carey has achieved perfect 10.0 scores on multiple occasions, particularly on floor exercise and vault, demonstrating her exceptional skill level in collegiate competition as well as elite gymnastics.
