Career Highlights
3rd at 2008 Olympic Trials in 5,000m; 2005 USA Outdoor Champs 5000m runner-up; 2001 USA Junior 5,000m champion; 2nd at 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships 5,000mAfter placing 9th in the 5,000m at the 2007 USA Outdoor Championships, Dobson bounced back with a third place finish at the 2008 Olympic Trials and a spot on the Team USA roster for the Games in Beijing. Dobson qualified for his first-ever Team USA World Championships roster with his runner-up finish in the 5,000m at the 2005 USA Outdoor Championships in Carson, Calif., where he established a new personal time of 13:15.33. A nine-time All-American while at Stanford, Dobson was the runner-up in the 5,000 meters at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships finishing behind Cardinal teammate Ryan Hall. In 2004, Dobson set a school record in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:32.09 at the Payton Jordan U.S. Open. That year he was the runner-up in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the Pac-10 and NCAA West Regional Championships...enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Klamath Union High School ...Finished second in the state in the 1500 and 3000 meters ... A two-time Oregon state cross country champion ... Finished third at the Footlocker National Cross Country Championships in Orlando, Fla. ... His team won two state championship titles ... National Honor Society member...a political science major at Stanford.
