MORE ON EMILY: Emily learned how to ski just after she learned how to walk. She competed at Junior Nationals multiple times during high school. Her junior year of high school she started rowing and competed at Junior World Championships for Rowing that summer. She went on to row for Dartmouth where she was a two time all-American and competed at U23 World Championships twice during the summers. After college she joined the Green Racing Project's Rowing team until she decided she wanted to make the switch back to skiing. She tried biathlon and quickly got hooked. She raced IBU cups in 2015/16 and 2016/17 and was named to the "B Team" in 2017.

Her mother, Judy Geer, competed in two Olympic Games in the sport of rowing (1976 & 1984), and her father, Dick Dreissigacker, is a five-time U.S. champion who rowed in the Olympic Games Munich 1972. In addition, older sister Hannah, 31, competed at the Sochi Games in 2014, placing 23rd in the 15 km individual race.
