Hoover

Hoover competed in his first biathlon in the fall of 1992.  Four years later, he posted his first top-ten finish in a national championship in 1996.  Since then, he has finished in the top ten at twelve national championships, including winning three consecutive men’s titles from 2006 until 2008.  Hoover qualified for his first world championship team in 2003, and has represented the country in four world championships since then.  His best finish in the world championship came in 2003 when he took 15th in the sprint.  He has claimed three other top-20 finishes at worlds.  With his second place finish in the 2009 world championship trials, Hoover qualified for his fifth world championship appearance.
