Nguyen learned about handball after visiting family in Norway in 2011. She would get her first playing experience two years later and shortly after was introduced to LA Team Handball by national team player, Staci Self. Nguyen played basketball (four years) and soccer (one year) in college and is a certified CrossFit Trainer for Adults and Kids.
