Biographical Information

Cooper Flagg is an American basketball player who has made an impact in both high school and college basketball, earning attention from scouts and analysts alike. His ability to contribute across multiple facets of the game—scoring, rebounding and playmaking—has set him apart as a future star.

Flagg comes from a family of basketball players; his mother played college basketball at the University of Maine and his father played NJCAA at Eastern Maine Community College. He attended Nokomis Regional High School, where he was the first freshman to earn the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year award, and later transferred to Montverde Academy. He is currently a member of Duke’s basketball team (the Duke Blue Devils).

Off the court, Flagg and his family show their support for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Portland, Maine; five dollars from every “In Flagg We Trust” tee shirt sold are donated to the charity.

Olympic Highlights

Flagg was a member of the 2024 USA Select Team who trained in Las Vegas alongside the U.S. Men's National Team as they prepared for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Early Career

Cooper Flagg’s high school career began in Maine and finished at a prestigious program in Florida. He became the first freshman in Maine history to be named Gatorade Player of the Year. In 2022, Flagg participated in the FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup in Spain, earning a gold medal and helping the U.S. win their sixth title.

Flagg transferred to Montverde Academy after his freshman year and was named MVP of the 2023 Hoophall Classic after a standout performance.

In 2024, he was selected for the McDonald’s All-American Boys Game. He was named Gatorade National Player of the Year, Mr. Basketball USA and Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Flagg averaged 16.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.7 blocks per game. He also led Montverde Academy to a perfect 34-0 record and the program's eighth national title.

In October 2023, Flagg committed to Duke University and finished as the top-rated recruit in the 2024 class. He enrolled in the summer of 2024 to take part in the Blue Devils' summer practices.
