Son of Michael and Lisa Fields...Began competing in BMX at age 7 after his mother saw a flyer advertising the local BMX track at a bike shop near their home in Las Vegas...His parents drove him to practice five nights per week, sometimes driving five hours so he could try new tracks and race against different people...Is a second-generation American...Has overcome multiple injuries, including a spleen laceration in 2009 and torn ligament in 2012...Met Canadian BMXer Tory Nyhaug at summer camp at age 8, and they have been best friends ever since...Supports the Make-a-Wish Foundation and JoyProm, which organizes proms for kids with special needs...Interests include playing fantasy football, cooking and
snowboarding...His go-to indulgent snacks are donuts and fried chicken...Won the geography bee in 5th grade with the answer to the final question being Rio de Janeiro.
