Seitz

A big, aggressive goalkeeper who commands the attention of opposing players when they enter into his area, Seitz earned his status as the top choice goalkeeper for the U-23s through hard work and leadership on the field. After a stellar performance at the 2007 U-20 World Cup, Seitz was rewarded with his first call up to the Men's National Team in September for its game against Brazil at Soldier Field in Chicago.

• As the fourth overall draft pick by Real Salt Lake in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, Seitz became the second-highest goalkeeper ever chosen, behind only Chivas USA's Brad Guzan, who was drafted at No. 2 in 2005.
• Earned Man of the Match honors for his performance against Poland at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, inspiring the team to a key draw in its opening fixture against South Korea.
• Started four of five games in Canada (missing the Round of 16 match with an injury), and helped the U.S. advance to the quarterfinals.

U.S. National Team - 2007: Called into first training camp with the Men's National Team in September 2007 leading up to game against Brazil on Sept. 9 ... Was nearly thrust into the game after Tim Howard dislocated his finger in the second half. The Everton goalkeeper played on as Seitz warmed up on the sideline ... Under-20s: Started four games at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Canada ... Named Man of the Match in opening game against South Korea ... Was between the pipes in 2-1 win over Brazil ... Helped USA finish atop the tournament's "Group of Death," letting in just three goals over the course of three games ... Played in two games with the Under-20s in 2006, both coming in the Milk Cup ... Earned his first start against Wales on July 31, 2006 against Wales and came away with a 3-0 victory ... Also started in the championship game of that tournament ... Under-18s:  Played in 10 games in 2005, including six internationals ... Earned a shutout against Serbia & Montenegro in the 2005 Northern Ireland Milk Cup ... Took the gloves in the final of the Milk Cup, a 4-2 win over the host country.

Professional - 2007: Drafted fourth-overall by Real Salt Lake in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft ... Started three games for RSL in 2007, resulting in two losses and a draw.

College - Played two seasons at the University of Maryland prior to turning pro ... Compiled an impressive 28-5-3 record in his two seasons ... Named ACC Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore while collecting an impressive 0.66 goals against average ... Soccer America's College MVP that season ... Led the Terps to the 2005 NCAA College Cup Title as a freshman ... Became the first freshman goalkeeper to lead his team to the NCAA title since 1990 ... Stopped a penalty kick in the 50^th minute of the Championship game ... Named College Cup MVP in 2005.
