Chelsea Burns competed in NCAA Division I track and field and cross country at Colgate University while completing a double major in geography and computer science. She was named the Colgate Female Athlete of the Year her senior year. Burns was introduced to triathlon as one of the first members of USA Triathlon’s Collegiate Recruitment Program. She competed her first Triathlon a few weeks after graduating college in 2012, then she competed in her first ITU race in 2013 at the Edmonton ITU Triathlon World Cup. Burns is a USA Triathlon certified coach. During her workouts, Burns enjoys listening to sports podcasts. Outside of Triathlon she enjoys hiking, trivia, snowboarding, cooking, crossword puzzles and gardening.
