Quick Facts

Chelsea Burns competed in NCAA Division I track and field and cross country at Colgate University while completing a double major in geography and computer science. She was named the Colgate Female Athlete of the Year her senior year. Burns was introduced to triathlon as one of the first members of USA Triathlon’s Collegiate Recruitment Program. She competed her first Triathlon a few weeks after graduating college in 2012, then she competed in her first ITU race in 2013 at the Edmonton ITU Triathlon World Cup. Burns is a USA Triathlon certified coach. During her workouts, Burns enjoys listening to sports podcasts. Outside of Triathlon she enjoys hiking, trivia, snowboarding, cooking, crossword puzzles and gardening.

2019: Finished 16th at the ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi, on March 8 • Placed 18th at the ITU World Triathlon Bermuda, on April 27 • Finished in 13th at the ITU World Triathlon Yokohama, on May 18 • Placed 21st at the ITU World Triathlon Leeds, on June 9 • Finished in 15th at the ITU World Triathlon Montreal, on June 29 • Placed 16th at the Hamburg Wasser World Triathlon on July 6
